OUR STORY

Last Updated April 22, 2023

How it all started.

Ever since I was born and could hold a spoon, I have loved cooking, baking, and hanging around the kitchen. I started out by helping my mom and grandma Debbie by baking all kinds of stuff such as breads, condiments, and cookies. At one point in time, I was climbing into our pantry and fridge to find ingredients to make some random treats. At that point in my life, I didn't know it at the time... but baking would eventually lead me to the path of success.

Then, my entrepreneurial skills kicked in.

Back in my dad's hometown of Keosauqua, IA, my sister, my grandma, and I went to my grandma's friend Maureen who owns Legacy Bakery. We got to help her out with an order of Cranberry Scones and that's when I knew that I wanted to be an entrepreneur and run a business and make people happy.

That's when Nash's Confections came about.

In 2020, over the COVID-19 pandemic I got onto my computer and typed out a menu with very low prices on a yellow sheet of paper and gave it to my parents and said... "this is what I am doing, I am starting a business." Over Mother's Day weekend of that same year, my sister fell off a hammock and got a concussion. At the time, I didn't know what social media was and in August 2020, my mom posted my menu to social media and that's when things blew up.

Now, it was time to find my specialty dessert.

After successfully starting up my business, it was time to find my specialty dessert. As my mom and I were driving to drop off cookies at Timberline RV Campground, my mom came up with the name for my new baked signature item and that's how the CINNA-ROE® came about! After months of testing, eating, and recipe creation I finally found the perfect recipe. Since then, we keep creating recipes and versions of the CINNA-ROE® such as the Caramel-Pecan CINNA-ROE® and Pumpkin CINNA-ROE® just to name a few. This bestselling dessert was then featured on the first episode of Food Networks Kids Baking Championship Season 11 "Biz Kids'' Episode 1.
