Nash Roe shared news about his hip recovery process after breaking it in a skiing accident.
"GUYYYYYYYSSSSSS:
6 months and 10 days later…. I am walking!
This has been the most challenging 6 months—mentally + physically. When I was told in February that I would be on crutches for 2 weeks, it felt like eternity. But hey, I’m 15! Would you expect anything less Back then, I thought I’d be walking in 6 weeks, getting my drivers license, baking up a storm, buuuut there was a detour. I developed avascular necrosis and had to have a second hip surgery in April.
The whole recovery has been quite the experience that taught me how to pivot and face fears. One of my biggest fear I conquered was being terrified of needles to giving myself daily shots in my abdomen. I still can’t believe I did that!
As my orthopedist says, “it’s a long term relationship,” and he’s right, but I’m so grateful and happy for this part to be behind me. On to rigorous Physical Therapy!
Thank you for all of the support and following along on this journey. Will I ski again?! Ehhh…. I told my family that we could go on a ski trip and I would wave at them from the ski lodge while enjoying some hot apple cider.
